Cooking Amish!
What could be better then the smell of homemade pancakes (Griddle Cakes) in the morning?? I have a recipe that will make you want to go back for more and more and more!
A while back ago my mom bought me an Amish cook book, so this recipe isn't mine but I had to share it with you guys.
They are really light and fluffy and are really easy to cook. They have become one of my family's favorite pancake recipes.
ingredients:
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons of sugar
3 teaspoons of baking powder
3 Tablespoons of melted butter
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cups milk
Lets get started!
Combine all the ingredients in this order.
Then lightly grease your pan (only oil it ONCE! )
Cook them until thy are puffy and bubbling, then flip them and cook the other side until lightly cooked. And that's it! It's simple and easy and really yummy:) serve them with warm butter and syrup or eat them plain.
A little note : I like to make them about a 1/4 of a cup big but its up to you. yields 6 pancakes (my family has to triple the recipe for it to feed all of us)
Hope you enjoy!
